Tell us about yourself

I am a freelance outdoor and adventure photographer based in Denver, Colorado. I’ve hiked thousands of miles in Colorado’s side and backcountry while constantly exploring new spots and planning trips around the U.S.’s southwest areas. I prefer Sony Cameras and absolutely love shooting landscape and adventure photography during golden hours.

Why do you travel and photograph your journeys?

I’m super grateful that many of my work projects take me outside exploring new destinations and new areas of the world. I love to travel and the camera gives me the ability to showcase and communicate the senses I encounter while visiting foreign places. Photography acts as this amazing way to create mini time capsules from exploring places near and far, the camera is a universal language and helps me to communicate my journeys with my audience.

What is your favourite thing or item to photograph

Landscapes and adventure photography

What’s your go-to travel hack?

Never checking bags, I almost always take up two spots in the overhead… unfortunately, I’m that buy but I’m never checking my camera bag.

Got any gear you can’t travel without?

iPhone 12 Pro … the camera on Apple’s latest devices is seriously a game changer for content creators.

What destination are you eager to go back to?

Lofoten Islands, Norway

How do you stay safe when you’re travelling?

Being aware of your surroundings, never letting your guard day and knowing when you’re in a sketchy spot. I’ve visit over 13 countries and never had a piece of gear lost of stolen, pay attention to where you’re going and if it doesn’t feel right call a ride to get yourself out of that area/zone.

What’s the best way to experience a destination like a local?

Spending some time with a local guide, visiting their favorite food places, avoiding the tourist traps and going off of that local’s knowledge or advice.

What’s your favourite word in another language?

Aroha which means Love in NZD

When and where are you next travelling?

Currently, we have some small trips planned to the surrounding areas near where I’m based such as: Utah (Factory Butte and Capitol Reef) plus Tetons, and maybe a trip to Hawaii in the near future.
