Aloha! My name is Evan and for the better portion of the last 4 years I’ve lived on a small rock in the middle of the Pacific Ocean amidst the chain of Hawaiian islands. Here on O’ahu, I’ve discovered a passion for capturing my adventures while exploring God’s beautiful creation. I grew up in West Africa and have always had a passion for travel.
Why do you travel and PHOTOGRAPH YOUR JOURNEYS?
Our time on this earth is limited and there are too many cultures to experience and places to see for me to feel comfortable staying in one location too long. I recently started taking photos as a way to share my adventures with my family and turned it into quite an enjoyable hobby.
What IS YOUR FAVOURITE THING OR ITEM TO PHOTOGRAPH?
Landscape photography, especially mountain ridge-lines.
What’s your go-to travel hack?
Pack everything into a carry-on, save money for not having to pay checked-baggage fees. Check each airlines for size and weight limits; typically a 45L bag or smaller qualifies.
Got any gear you can’t travel without?
My drone. Unless it’s not allowed in the country that I’m traveling to.
What destination are you eager to go back to?
How do you stay safe when you’re travelling?
Make sure your accommodation offers a safe place to lock your belongings while you’re out and about. Don’t forget to insure your valuable equipment for possible theft or loss.
What’s the best way to experience a destination like a local?
Ask locals for advice on things to do. Eat where the locals eat, not where the other tourists do.
What’s your favourite word in another language?
Ogebhe (ah-goob-va); It means “Lion” in the the Esimbi tribe of Cameroon.
