Why do you travel?
We love to explore the world, experience new landscapes, tastes, and situations. Meet new people, discover their culture, behaviors, and places where they live. Spend time with our children and teach them the world through experience.
What’s your go-to travel hack?
We plan and recognize the itinerary of our trip in advance to avoid wasting time on planning while traveling and to avoid dangerous places.
What are your top tips for travelling with families?
1. The sooner you start traveling together, the faster you will learn to do it seamlessly.
2. Plan your trip well to include attractions for all your family members. Of course, spontaneous changes and adjustments are also advisable.
3. Remember that you are a guest in a new place you are traveling to. Adapt your behavior, dress, and customs to the local culture and be an example to your children in this regard.
Got any gear you can’t travel without?
First aid kit, flashlight, Victorinox, paper map or at least offline map, camera, etc.
How do you and your family stay safe and healthy when travelling?
We follow common sense, avoid dangerous places, eat healthy and keep fit.
What’s the best way to experience a destination like a local?
Choose apartments or guest rooms instead of chain hotels, participate in workshops, e.g. culinary workshops organized by the locals, and preferably take part in a local event such as a wedding.
What’s your favourite word in another language?
Polepole in Swahili or Arigatō gozaimasu in Japanese
What is your favourite thing to do with your family while travelling?
Hiking in the mountains and trekking to other natural monuments. Participation in local cultural festivals or sports events.
When and where are you next travelling?
Our bucket list is long, but unfortunately our trips to Jordan and then to Georgia were canceled last year due to Covid. We hope to travel there soon.
