I’m a wife and a mother of two who travels full time in an RV around the US. We have been traveling full time for over 2 years and are having a blast! My husband and I work remotely and homeschool (or “roadschool” the kids) and explore new places as much as possible.
Why do you travel?
We love visiting new places and meeting new people. We are always learning new things.
What’s your go-to travel hack?
We make plans and don’t hold them too tightly! Things change all the time so we have to stay flexible. Having a relaxed attitude while traveling makes all the difference in the world.
What are your top tips for travelling with families?
Travel with others! We love caravanning with friends. Our kids always have kids to play with and we love sharing the experience with others.
Got any gear you can’t travel without?
We love our propane fire pit. There are often burn bans in the west, but you can always use a propane pit even when you can burn wood. They’re also convenient and easy to pack up and store!
How do you and your family stay safe and healthy when travelling?
We drink lots of water and get LOTS of fresh air. We hardly ever get sick. I think the combination of playing in the dirt often and basically living outside plays a role in our health! We move our bodies daily and are careful about what we put in our bodies.
What’s the best way to experience a destination like a local?
Meet locals! Ask them their favorite places and listen to their experiences. We love meeting new people everywhere we go.
What’s your favourite word in another language?
konnichiwa. My son says it ALL the time!
What is your favourite thing to do with your family while travelling?
Hiking in beautiful places.
When and where are you next travelling?
We’re currently in Southern California and will be heading up the coast in spring, then exploring Idaho this summer.
