Tell us about yourself

Hi, I’m Becky, a stay-at-home mum of two daughters, age 6 and 3. Together with my husband we have travelled to 70 Countries and didn’t slow down when the girls were born! From a year abroad back in 2006 to trekking with Gorillas and road-tripping America, we love it all. We enjoy sharing our passion for adventures both near and far and hope to prove that travel with children isn’t just doable, but fun!

Why do you travel?

I believe that travel is the best education and have learnt so much about the World and its people through our adventures. I love seeing new places, trying new foods and staying somewhere different. All the while bonding with my family, it couldn’t get better really.

What’s your go-to travel hack?

Pack small fun activities for whilst you’re at your accommodation – bubbles are always a hit with my two! Sticker books, colouring, card games and small puzzles are great for keeping the children entertained when you’re not out and about.

What are your top tips for travelling with families?

Don’t over plan! You’ll probably get less done in a day than you would without children, learn to slow down and take things at their pace. Once we’d started to do that, travelling with our children got a lot easier.

Got any gear you can’t travel without?

Small portable fan, portable phone charger, baby wipes and hand sanitiser!

How do you and your family stay safe and healthy when travelling?

I take a first aid kit with packed with all the essentials and we keep up with good hand hygiene at all times. We avoid drinking tap water unless we know it’s safe and only buy food from places that look clean.

What’s the best way to experience a destination like a local?

We often stay in Airbnbs on City Breaks which is an amazing way of mixing with the locals, they’re often located in places where the locals live and shop and it feels like a really authentic way to get to know a place.

What’s your favourite word in another language?

Spasibo (Spa-see-bah) which means Thank You in Russian. We travelled across Russia on the Trans-Siberian Railway and this was one of our most used Russian words!

What is your favourite thing to do with your family while travelling?

We’re foodies and love to enjoy local cuisine and specialities. Christmas Markets are really amazing for this!

When and where are you next travelling?

We hope to travel to Mauritius in July, Covid complying. We should have been going in 2020 so it’ll be amazing if we can finally go this year.
